Dear colleagues and collaborators,
As we approach the end of 2024, I believe that we can look back with pride on the many things that we have achieved together this year. We would like to thank all of you for your vital contributions to our research environment, encompassing diverse roles and capacities.
Next year is poised to be a particularly eventful year for MultiPark. On December 12, the Swedish government has ordered a formal evaluation of all strategic research areas led by the Swedish Research Council. On top of that, we will need to define a renewed strategic research plan for the coming 5-year period (2026-2030). To prepare for this, we are planning to have a PI retreat late in March or early in April. Moreover, we will hold our general annual retreat on September 1-2 (venue: Hotel Riviera in Båstad).
I believe that we will successfully tackle the upcoming challenges together and come out of it better than before. Collectively, we run an amazing research program with high societal relevance. As Coordinator and vice-Coordinators we can count on the valuable support of a committed steering group and on Diana Jerman´s great efficiency in handling correspondence and administrative issues. One change for next year is that Megg Garcia-Ryde will take over the role of infrastructure manager from Linda Eliasson, who has been offered an administrative job by some of our research groups. We would like to take the opportunity to thank Linda for her truly excellent contribution at reviewing and improving the MultiPark-supported infrastructures, many of which are now described in LUCRIS (Lund University Research Information System).
MultiPark management will be on vacation from December 20 to January 6, and we hope that each of you will take some time off and enjoy the Holidays with dear friends and loved ones.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2025.
Angela,
With Mia and Per
